Garden Waste Collections Resume in Telford & Wrekin
Residents wanting to recycle their garden waste can put their green wheelie bins out again when Telford & Wrekin Council resumes collections this week.
The garden waste collections of the green wheelie bin were temporarily suspended over the Christmas and New Year period while the household rubbish was collected on a weekly basis.
Now, depending on where you live in the Telford and Wrekin borough, the garden waste collections start again this week, with the remainder rolling out to the rest of the area next week.
If you are unsure when your collections start again, you can check on the GreenBoxDay website, the sticker on your grey wheelie bin or contact Environmental Maintenance Customer Services on 01952 384384.
GreenBoxDay reminders will continue as normal from this week - and residents are encouraged to register for the service which will keep you informed about forthcoming recycling collection changes at Easter and for the May Bank holidays.
Telford & Wrekin residents are also reminded that garden waste should be placed in the green wheelie bin with the lid down. If you have placed anything other than garden waste in the green wheelie bin over the Christmas period, please remember to take it out before you put your green waste in or the load will be contaminated and therefore unusable.
All garden waste disposed of correctly in the Telford and Wrekin Council area is recycled and used to help improve soil on local farmland.
